Large Polyp StonyBubble Corals
Bubble Corals are a classic in the Aquarium Trade, and there are a number of subspecies and different interesting growth patterns to enjoy. Bubble Corals are an LPS that expands and contracts a great deal from day to night, from photosynthesis to feeding mode, and when expelling waste. There will probably even be a few panic moments over the course of time when you suddenly see your prized, established Bubble looking like its lost chunks of tissue, and skeletal spurs are exposed to the water column. Don't panic right away - this happens! As long as your tank has a well established biofilm, and nutrients are in check, in a few hours, your Bubble should be back to looking its best within a few hours.
